2023 Ducati Panigale V4R: Detailed Review

This article is about the 2023 Ducati Panigale V4 R and its various other revolutionized features. Know about this bike’s detailed specs in this article.

The firm itself has played a significant role in altering the perception of superbikes, therefore Ducati is a familiar name in the bike manufacturing industry. Ducati is sure to build up another example of a high-speed bike around the globe market with its new forthcoming 2023 Panigale VR 4 bike.

Ducati’s new 2023 Panigale V4 R delivers incredible power to accompany its groundbreaking chassis design, which was influenced by Moto-GP and World Superbike efforts. Ducati is excited about the new 2023 Panigale VR4 R even though the first Panigale VR 4 was released three years ago.

Currently, the V4 R engine is the most advanced iteration of the Panigale V4 engine. Developed by Ducati’s Engineering and Racing Departments, this power train exhibits all the expertise the company has gathered over the years.

About the bike 2023 Ducati Panigale V4 R

As Ducati’s top street-legal sports motorcycle, the Panigale V4 R is closer to the factory racing machines in the World Superbike Championship.

A combination of white plates with the number “1” and carbon wings distinguishes the new Ducati Panigale V4 R from its predecessor. Numbers will be found on the billet aluminum steering clamp, which will also indicate the model name and progression number for the bike.

A DLC surface treatment is applied to gun-drilled titanium pistons and connecting rods on the new Panigale V4 R, which are typically found on motorcycles in MotoGP and Superbike championships.

Pros

  • Although pricey, Ducati homologation motorcycles are unquestionably classics, thus their value is unlikely to decline as quickly as that of more mass-produced versions.
  • Even if the aesthetic improvements are minor, the superbike is still the best-looking one on the market.

Cons

  • There is a slight reduction in power over the previous version.
  • A bit expensive.

Ducati Panigale V4 R Design & Comfort

There are a few additional seat pads provided by Ducati to accommodate different rider preferences, but it’s not a bike for anyone who is concerned with just comfort.

Furthermore, you may include adjustable aluminum foot-pegs as previously suggested, although such an accessory would cost a four-figure sum. It is estimated that the Panigale V4 R achieves 35.3 mpg according to official statistics.

The installation of the new exhaust system alters the bike’s appearance as well since it replaces the belly-mounted silencer with two under-seat ones. Additionally, the remap for engine management allows the rider aids to be mapped to the higher power output for optimal performance.

Ducati Panigale V4 R Hardware

It’s not just the engine performance that makes the Panigale V4R spectacular; world-class parts like the Öhlins suspension also contribute to this. It is also completely customizable throughout the entire setup.

Front braking is composed of Brembo Mono-bloc Stylema four-piston calipers positioned radically, and rear braking is composed of two-piston calipers powered by Bosch cornering ASB.

Not only does these bike’s improve braking power and feel, but also gives riders an increase in confidence for every corner. In addition, magnesium rims can be lightened and the foot-pegs can be adjusted.

Ducati Panigale V4 R Engine

This bike has a maximum output of 218hp and 111.3Nm at 12,000 rpm from the 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R V4 engine that powers this motorbike.

An engine powered by this engine can reach a maximum speed of 16,500 rpm in the sixth gear, and 16,000 rpm in the first five gears. By using lightweight components and changing engine internals, the business reached such high RPMs.

The new V4 R has a 48.4mm stroke rather than the standard 53.5mm, reducing its capacity to 998cc, but the basic design remains the same, with an 81mm bore and reverse-rotating crank.

Additionally, the pistons of the 2023 engine are 5 grams lighter than previous models because the intake trumpets have been modified to be shorter and variable-length, the intake cam profile has been changed, and the titanium conrods have been gun drilled.

Exhaust system

During the development of the upcoming 2023 Ducati Panigale V4 R, a titanium exhaust system will be fitted with twin under-seat silencers, which will improve the existing V4 R’s excellent weight-to-power ratio by an additional 237 horsepower and decrease weight by 5 kilos over the standard system.

As part of the bike package, you will receive a unique exhaust mapping, and you will be able to adjust every setting to enhance the bike’s performance.

Mileage

However, this is unlikely to cause a major concern for the Panigale V4 R’s consumer base. With a big 17-liter aluminum tank finished in bare aluminum, the range will be around 130 miles if you get the advertised mpg.

However, the Panigale V4 R still provides a powerful, thrilling ride, and its impressive speed and performance capabilities far outweigh the slight drawback of its low fuel efficiency.

2023 Ducati Panigale V4 R Power

There is actually a slight difference between the headline figure of 240.5hp and the actual figure of 240.5hp since the European PS horses are slightly weaker than the burly metric horses that we are used to, although the difference is small enough not to notice.

The motor’s fully tuned power output, which includes the race exhaust and special oil, can be calculated at 237.4 horsepower using the proper horsepower.

Transmission and Chassis

The gearbox at the front of the bike where the motor is attached will also receive the same improvements as those made to the base bike in 2022, which included longer first and second gear ratios and a shorter sixth gear ratio so as to create an overall transmission with a closer ratio.

Furthermore, a pivot point has been moved up in the adjustable swingarm, which has increased rear height by 20mm. Apparently, Ducati claims these adjustments have improved the way the motorbike approaches turns, and changes directions, for instance when negotiating a chicane.

Suspension

The suspension is made up of semi-active units equipped with unique inner components that were fabricated in the factory. Gas-charged 43mm male-slider stanchion on NPX 25/30 forks has been TIN-treated for maximum smoothness.

The NPX 25/30 fork’s 43mm male-slider gas-charged stanchion also features a special hard anodized coating for additional durability and lifespan.

This treatment helps to reduce friction and wear, giving the fork a longer life and avoiding the need for maintenance. The semi-active nature of the unit also ensures that the forks react quickly and precisely to changes on the track, providing improved handling and control.

As mentioned below, the pressurized damping system is derived from WSBK units. The functions are as follows:-

  • Right leg compression damping is controlled by a piston 25mm in diameter,
  • Right leg pistons control rebound, while left leg pistons control compression.

It features a shortened TTX 36 rear shock absorber, which comes in at a greater height of 4mm with a reduced spring static load of 59 lb.-ft. The suspension package weighs approximately 2 pounds less, but the wheel travel is now 125mm front and 130mm rear.

2023 Ducati Panigale V4 R Electronics

In addition, Ducati has made a few adjustments to the bike’s electronics package. The first thing to note is that the device has four riding modes:

  • Full,
  • High,
  • Medium,
  • And Low.

Furthermore, the new Engine Brake Control software and quick-shifter mechanism make using the bike easier on the road and in racing.

Aerodynamic concept

The Panigale V4 R has been modified with new aerodynamic components. With this design, the wings are smaller and thinner while producing the same amount of load while being more aerodynamically efficient.

There have also been a few changes to the extractor architecture on the lower section of the fairing in order to improve engine cooling.

2023 Ducati Panigale V4 R Price and launch date

The 2023 Ducati Panigale V4 R is yet to be launched in spring 2023, and the price of this Super sports bike is to be set at $44,995.
